The hospital chapel

All hospitals have a chapel. Anyone can use it, regardless of faith or conviction. When someone dies at the hospital, the deceased is inspected by a doctor, and then driven to the hospital’s chapel. It’s possible to see the deceased in the chapel after arrangement with the chapel staff. However, this isn’t possible in certain cases, e.g. if the deceased arrived at the hospital with injuries to their face or body. It’s also possible to see the deceased in the chapel when they’re fetched for the funeral. The deceased must also be fetched for the funeral after arrangement with the chapel staff. However, it’s the undertaker who organises the practical aspects, and knows the procedures connected to the collection of the deceased. On the region’s website, you can find more information about the chapels that are connected to Region Sjælland’s hospitals.
