Special rules apply for maximum waiting times for the examination and treatment of patients with cancer and certain cardiac diseases.
If you are referred for treatment of a cancer, you must be called in within 14 days of your referral.
The 14 days are calculated from the day that the hospital received the referral.
If you are referred for treatment of certain cardiac diseases, there are different waiting times according to the cardiac disease you’re being treated for.
The maximum waiting times are 2-5 weeks.
If the hospital can’t comply with the waiting times,
the hospital must investigate your opportunities for faster examination and treatment elsewhere in Denmark or abroad.
