The doctors need permission if they wish to remove one of your organs for a transplant after your death.
Everyone above the age of 18 can decide if they want their organs transplanted.
You may have given consent at an earlier stage in the process via the Donor Registry.
If you haven’t decided, your relatives may be asked to give their consent after your death. It can be a tough decision for your relatives.
That’s why it’s a good idea for you to register your decision with the Donor Registry.
